AUT is proud to participate in the 2022 Pacific Language Weeks series.

This year’s theme is ‘sustainability’, in alignment with the start of the UNESCO International Decade of Indigenous Languages.

It also comes at a time when Aotearoa, the Pacific and the rest of the world continue to tackle a great many sustainability challenges across a multitude of areas: environment, health, education, culture, labour, and more.

Over the next few months, AUT research focused on the different areas of sustainability will be highlighted via short, animated videos narrated in the different Pacific languages being acknowledged.

Watch the video from our Vice Chancellor, Professor Damon Salesa as he launches AUT’s 2022 Pacific Language Week video series.
