AUT's Business School will host the 2011 Auckland finance Meeting on 16-17 December.

Professor Webb currently holds a number of academic posts, including research professor at the McIntire School of Commerce in USA, visiting professor at the University of Virginia, and professor at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology. His keynote speech will focus on Trading and Fat Tails.

Presenting finance research from AUT Business School will be Professor Alireza Tourani-Rad, associate professor Bart Frijns, associate professor Peiming Wang, Dr Aaron Gilbert, Dr Jose’ Da Fonseca and Dr Katrin Gottschalk.

Chair of the AUT Finance department, Professor Tourani-Rad says hosting the event this year will be a great opportunity for staff at the university to hear from experts in the field of finance.

“We are proud of the networks we have with industry and other academic institutions and this meeting will allow us to continue strengthening these partnerships.”

“It’s also a great opportunity for us all here in Auckland to hear about the financial research being carried out around the world.”

The two day event will take place from 16-17 December and ends with a wine tour on Waiheke Island.
