World-class accommodation at AUT

Applications for AUT’s Mayoral Drive Student Accommodation are now open.

The brand new, purpose-built accommodation offers 697 studio apartments (each with a bed, kitchenette and bathroom), has a recreation centre and sports court, as well as shared study, social and dining spaces.

Mayoral Drive Student Accommodation will be managed by UniLodge and is open to all tertiary students in Auckland Central.

Joanna Scarbrough, Group Director Student Services and Administration said the hope is for residents to flourish in student accommodation, with the opportunity to meet new friends, become part of an academic community, and be close to the superb facilities AUT has to offer.

“We also offer a safe environment with a level of care and support, providing confidence to parents and caregivers that their loved one will be in an environment that supports their academic and social pursuits,” she said.

The building also provides the opportunity for safe social distancing if the COVID-19 Alert Levels change.

Village Managers Stephanie Harris and Mark Bishara said that what students love most about staying in AUT accommodation is the focus on building a community and creating a space where friendships are made that carry on through university and beyond.

“There is also the convenience of living on campus and getting the full university experience. Another common theme is that there are always staff around who can help and guide them on their journey at AUT.”
