In light of the uncertainty of alert levels under the Delta variant, AUT has decided:

  • All teaching and learning activities will remain online for the duration of Semester 2, regardless of changes in the COVID-19 alert level.
  • There will be no in-person assessments or in-person exams for Semester 2 courses.
  • Exceptions to online learning will be allowed for practical course activities (these will be communicated to students by their Schools) and in line with Ministry of Education Alert Level requirements.

We want to ensure learning can continue with minimal disruption and provide students and teaching staff with certainty so they can plan ahead. We want to make sure quality learning is available to all, acknowledging that concerns around contracting the virus remain.

Keeping people safe on our campuses and in our classrooms is always the main consideration in our decision making.

Work continues on our approach to on-campus student services and study spaces under alert level 2. This will be finalised and communicated in line with the Tertiary Education Commission (TEC) and Ministry of Education guidelines for Alert Level 2.

If you require any support or assistance, the Student Hub is available to help. We can provide students with equipment and internet access through our digital equity scheme, desks and access to study spaces within government guidelines, and financial assistance.
