Search for new AUT V.C begins

The Auckland University of Technology (AUT) Council has begun the search for a new Vice-Chancellor to lead the University from April 2022.

An external global search for potential candidates has commenced and advertising will take place in a variety of media.

In just 21 years, AUT has grown to become the country’s second-largest university and currently ranks number one in New Zealand for Global Research Impact; International Outlook; and Health Subjects. It is the top Millennial University in Australasia and #15 in the world*.

Chancellor Rob Campbell is consulting with AUT staff and mana whenua about the new appointment and several themes have emerged that will inform the Council during the process and decision making:

  • Consistency that respects what has been achieved so far at AUT.
  • Strengthening partnership and Te Tiriti opportunities.
  • Further development of academic excellence in learning and research.
  • Enhancing student experience and equity throughout their time at AUT.
  • Creating a working environment in which staff can excel, express themselves, and enjoy their work.
