Auckland University of Technology has announced the promotion to Professor of seven senior academics, who are internationally recognised leaders in their respective fields of specialisation. A further 16 academics have been appointed as Associate Professors.

High quality research is just one of three criteria that AUT considered in this year’s professorial appointment promotion round. Evidence of a sustained and outstanding contribution in teaching, assessment and curriculum design, and service to both the University and the community were also required.

“Responding to our place in the world, creating exceptional learning experiences and discovering and applying knowledge are some of the commitments that AUT has made in support of our vision to produce great graduates. This year’s appointees have each made an outstanding contribution in these areas and are a welcome addition to the University’s senior academic ranks,” said Vice-Chancellor  Derek McCormack.
