Five questions: Professor Charles Walker

A scholarship to study marine engineering and a switch to studying painting led Professor Charles Walker to architecture, where he felt he could combine the two industries.

We asked Charles five questions about his research at the time of his Inaugural Professorial Address.

Charles told us about how he got into the field of architecture, his research and his role as the Creative Director for the New Zealand Pavilion at the 2016 Venice Architecture Biennale.

He also talked about his role as professor at AUT and what it means to him, his hopes for the architecture industry and finally, his advice for aspiring or new researchers.
