Professor Antonio Díaz Andrade’s inaugural professional address will look at the advancement of digital technology in society and its impacts on people's lives in understanding its social implications.
We asked Antonio five questions ahead of his address, where he discussed his research, how he got into his field, and his advice for researchers.
"In the late nineties, it was the internet boom and time when people thought the internet wouldn't revolutionise the world, and I travelled to remote areas and saw problems. Then I started connecting the dots and saying, how can we use digital technology to bring development to these communities? That was the beginning of my area of research."
Please join us for Professor Antonio Díaz Andrade's inaugural professorial address at 4.30pm on Tuesday 19 July in the WA Conference Centre, AUT City Campus.
This is a free public lecture, and everyone is welcome.
