Oren Gershtein from Israel will explain how he has an 80% success rate with start-ups at the AUTEL Innovation Day on Friday 26 July at AUT’s city campus.

Commercialising new discoveries and intellectual property into innovative products and services will be discussed by international and Kiwi experts at the Innovation Day which starts with a breakfast at 7.30am.

AUT Enterprises Ltd (AUTEL) is the commercialisation arm of the university working closely with staff and students of the university to help bring new, innovative ideas and technologies to market.

AUTEL invites all AUT staff, postgrads and Bachelor of Business Design major students to attend the day packed full of networking opportunities and high-profile guest speakers including:

  • Brian Richards        Designing technology from outside in
    Architect and principal advisor to many high-profile successful brands including, Zespri, Icebreaker, Fisher & Paykel Healthcare and Steinlarger Pure.
  • Oren Gershtein        The wells of the new era
    Our international guest is the former CEO of Van Leer Ventures Jerusalem, one of the world’s leading start-up support organisations. Van Leer Ventures has an astonishing 80% success rate with start-up businesses, which by international standards, places them in the top of their field.
  • Dr Ralf Muller         Oh no, I need money
    A serial entrepreneur with a passion for working with new and growing NZ companies in the innovation and tech space. You may recognise Dr Muller from his roles as a Spark judge and a judge on the TV series “Let’s get inventing”.

Anton Gibson: Patent attorney at AJ Park
Kunal Bhargava: Engineering manager at PowerbyProxi.
