AUT to host first virtual open day

Prospective international students across the globe will have the opportunity to learn about the benefits of living in New Zealand and studying at Auckland University of Technology when AUT hosts its first-ever online open day on 12 October.

The AUT LIVE International event is part of the university’s international Find Your Greatness campaign, which also features an extensive digital marketing campaign in 13 countries across five key regions.

Pro Vice-Chancellor International, Professor Guy Littlefair, said AUT Live International will provide a valuable opportunity for students thinking of studying abroad to find out why AUT is the right university for them.

“This event will give prospective students and their families insight into what courses we offer, what life is like on campus, what opportunities are available to gain valuable work experience, and what steps they need to take to start the journey to becoming one of our great graduates,” Guy says.

“This is part of a very significant campaign that aims to tell prospective students that if they are looking to study at one of the world’s best modern universities, in one of the world’s best cities, then AUT is for them.”

Among the many faces that will feature in the campaign is that of AUT student and AUTSA President, Sara Youssef, who will feature in markets in the Middle East.

Sara, whose family migrated to New Zealand from Egypt, said studying at AUT has opened up unlimited possibilities to her.

“AUT helped me find my passion as a student and has shaped me as a person,” Sara says.

“I am so happy to be a part of this campaign because I know how important it is for young people in places like the Middle East to see someone who looks like them and is thriving at university. It gives them confidence to know they can do anything.”

Sara said her message to any international students considering studying at AUT would be to attend AUT LIVE International and find out for themselves what AUT has to offer.

“Any university can provide you with a degree, but not every university can provide you with an experience that will stay with you forever,” Sara says.

“The people, the culture, the diversity and the learning experience you get here can’t be found anywhere else.”
