AUT secures 25 Best Award nominations
The Little Ones by AUT Antonio Wan has secured a nomination in the Best Award 'product' category.

Twenty five projects by students and staff from the School of Art and Design and Colab have secured nominations in the country’s top design awards.

The Best Awards are run by The Designers Institute and are a showcase of excellence in graphic, spatial, product and interactive design.

The award ceremony will be held on Friday October 14.

The Head of the School of Art and Design, Professor Thomas Mical, says he is thrilled to see the quality and abundance of our design staff and students’ work recognised at a national level.

“We did win a number of Best Awards last year, and are looking forward to more acknowledgement of our programs in 2016.Our Design Health and Wellbeing Lab at Auckland Hospital, which won the Supreme Award last year, is proving to be a design powerhouse with a number of nominations in the product, public good, communication and interactive categories this year. Communication Design and Product Design have a large share of the nominations. The Spatial Design nomination for the students who took part in an exhibition during the Venice Architecture Biennale is recognition of a daring proposal, at it is fine to see them recognised at home too. ”
