AUT 2019 domestic and international fees

Auckland University of Technology students are provided with a unique learning experience through our development of modern teaching and learning facilities and curriculum; a focus on research and teaching excellence; and engagement with industry, business and the local and international community.

To continue delivering this, tuition fees will increase by 2%. This is for new domestic students, and for domestic and international students currently enrolled in a programme.

For most full time undergraduate domestic students, this increase equates to an additional $130 for the year.

For international students enrolling in a programme for the first time, tuition fees will increase by up to 3%.

AUT will continue to offer nine, free Te Reo Māori language courses to domestic students, in line with our commitment to the Treaty of Waitangi.

Compulsory Student Services Fees and the Building Levy are both paid in addition to the tuition fee. For 2019, the Compulsory Student Services Fee will increase by 3% to $646 per full time student.  The Building Levy for 2019 will increase by 2% to $71 per full time student.

These increases reflect the costs related to providing necessary non-tuition services across the university. AUT’s Student Services fee remains below the average of other New Zealand universities. The Building Levy, in place since 2009, is to support the development of recreation facilities at all our campuses.
