Final-year tourism student, Seine Johnston, has won a trip to Fiji to make a difference with Spring Break Uprising, a tourism initiative for travellers interested in sightseeing, adventure and giving back to local communities.

The Bachelor of International Tourism Management student’s analysis of Spring Break Uprising’s role as a sustainable tourism operator won her the five-day luxury trip.

Seine believes that her Pacific heritage gives her the ability to understand tourism in the islands from the perspective of a visitor and a local.

“I think it would benefit Spring Break to have someone who has grown up with an appreciation for Polynesian culture and an understanding of the perceptions of tourism by local communities and how the two can come together to form unique, authentic and fun activities,” says Seine.

The trip runs from 5-10 December 2018 and includes flights, transfers, entertainment, meals and accommodation.
