New podcast celebrates Periodic Table

Professor Allan Blackman from the School of Science and Radio New Zealand science presenter Alison Ballance have launched a podcast, which celebrates 150 years of the Periodic Table.

The United Nations has designated 2019 as the International Year of the Periodic Table, which was first published in 1869 by Dmitri Mendeleev. The Periodic Table is considered the common language of science.

The podcast, titled 'Elemental' is a fascinating journey through the elements the part they play in us, Earth and the Universe. The podcast launched this week and there will be two to three podcasts every week for the rest of 2019.

Allan also appears on 95bFM’s Dear Science, discussing various science-related issues. Check out Dear Science
