AUT shuttles become vaccination buses

AUT shuttle buses aren't sitting idle while the campuses are closed  – they're being used as a key part of Auckland's vaccination efforts.

Two AUT shuttles have become 'Busifika Vax' mobile vaccination buses.

The Busifika Vax buses are being used to make vaccinations more accessible for Pacific communities.

Craig Skelton, Director of Facilities Services, said AUT was very pleased to be able to help the vaccination campaign. "These buses are playing an important role in making it easy for people to get vaccinated closer to home."

The Northern Region Health Co-ordination Centre says vaccination buses have reached 11,400 people since their launch last month.  The Busifika Vax buses are part of a fleet of 12 buses currently on the road across all areas of Auckland.
